FORUM FAQ
What is the best instructional video tape available for yo-yoing?
This falls back to personal taste and style of play, as well as the artistic approach the individual has chosen to take in their video presentations.
All the tapes available are good for learning the basic tricks, but some delve deeper into more advanced tricks than others.
Of course, we recommend the Duncan® "How To Be A Player" videos.
Are there any good yo-yo books?
The Duncan Trick Book is a great place to start your yo-yoing career. It features beginner and advanced tricks, as well as two-handed play and a bonus section on "counterweight" style yo-yo play. Several great books have been printed about the yo-yo, among them "World On A String" by Helane Zeiger, and "The One And Only Yo-Yo Book" by George Malko. Unfortunately, neither of these two books are currently in print, and besides being great resources for yo-yo information, they are both highly sought after collectors items themselves.
How can I learn more about collecting yo-yos?
The most accurate and complete book on yo-yo collecting is "Lucky's Guide To Collecting 20th Century Yo-Yos", written by Lucky Meisenheimer. It's available at most bookstores, and if they don't have it they can order it easily. You can find more info about Lucky and his collection at http://www.yo-yos.net.
