The Freehand Mg was co-designed by U.S. National Yo-Yo Master Steve Brown, and Japanese National Yo-Yo Master Takahiko Hasegawa exclusively for Duncan Toys. Each Freehand Mg is hand-created by Shinobu Kon, who is currently considered to be the most gifted creator of high-end specialty yo-yos in the world. Based on an original design by Brown, with updated materials selected by Kon and Hasegawa, the Freehand Mg prototypes were tested by dozens of the best yo-yo players in the world. Two different finishes were selected: one satin-smooth black Teflon finish for "grind" style tricks, and one powder-coated metallic blue finish for increased durability. The Freehand Mg will be produced in limited quantities of 200 pieces per year, with no more than 100 of any color/finish combination ever being produced. The Freehand Mg comes unassembled in a velvet-lined wooden box, and will be available through www.yo-yo.com, and a small number of specialty yo-yo retailers. The retail price of this yo-yo is expected to be $400 - $500 each.
